Well I did the run with the four mini-sprints this morning and let me tell you it didn't feel good. I only ran a few miles and then finished off with four 20-second sprints (2-minute slow breaks in between). I got down to 4:15 pace on one of the sprints but it truly was a struggle from start to finish.
Do you ever have those runs that on paper should have been a breeze but in reality almost ate you up? I had one of those. But first, our Christmas in a nutshell... Here I am modeling the super fuzzy Ohio State socks that Jon's brother and sister-in-law sent. They hook me up with comfy clothes every year!
Merry Christmas to all of you who celebrate the holiday!! And to those who don't, I hope you have a wonderful day with family or friends too!! It's our favorite time of year, and nothing makes me happier than seeing these two happy faces standing next to the tree...
Today was my official first day of vacation and it was a gorgeous (but cold!) day in San Francisco so I took my run to the track!
I beat the sunset tonight by getting in four miles (one less than planned) and this was the first run I did since the marathon 17 days ago. I hit the exact pace I was supposed to -- 10:32 average for all four. The surprising thing was how HARD it was. Considering I thought of four miles as a warm up about a month ago, and that the assigned pace was slower than my average, it was surprising to me how much I struggled tonight.
