There is not a single thing in this world better than morning snuggle time. I am blessed that both of our boys immediately want cuddles when they wake up (well The Dude not so much these days but he definitely used to!).
Return of the black corner!! I was laid up yesterday working from my bed and feeling sorry for myself that I couldn't run on such a pretty and sunny day! I eased my suffering by staying in fleece comfy clothes all day.
You know how Netflix sort of went off the deep end in their social media and shamed people for watching one of the best holiday flicks of all time?
Well they'll probably shame me next and it'll go something like this: to the family in San Francisco who have "Holiday Hearth Home" playing on a loop 87% of the day: get a real fireplace!
My mom has taught me many things over the years and one of them is the art of garage sale-ing. She gave us this Rolling Stones album she snagged at a sale many years ago which we listened to the other night after dinner. I used to work for the Stones when I first moved to San Francisco. I still love their music.
I can't get enough mustard lately and soft pretzels are my favorite vessel.
I really should not have popped in here for a special treat for our dinner because I haven't been able to run. But seriously how can you refuse a Schubert's baked good? This place is legendary.
If you didn't serve soup with 9 different kinds of crackers and bread, did you really serve soup at all?
Oh the memories!! I might consider going just to hear Cruel Summer.
I went to eat with some work friends the other night and the person in the glasses selected Cuisine of Nepal as the restaurant of the night! He's a regular there (when he used to live here - he was visiting from out of town which is why we went to dinner!). The food was absolutely out of the world delicious. It's in Bernal Heights and you must eat there when you're in town. Did I tell you this already? I might do that from time to time on this blog considering the frequency in which I post :)
This made me laugh (and scratch my head)...
I'm taking some rest before jumping back into any hard workouts until my body parts are feeling a little better. Tonight it will just be some icing of my leg and sleep.
It's been awhile so let's do some Smatterings, my weekly brain dump of all the little tidbits floating in my brain!
Walking over hot coals is so 2008!
If you're a parent of a child who plays with Legos, you will totally understand the feats of strength this gentleman had to go through in order to break this world record...
A man named Russell Cassevah just broke the world record for walking the longest distance across Lego bricks! He sustained one painful step after another across 120 FEET of Legos, surpassing the old record of 85 feet! The sweet part is that he did it for charity to support the organization Fairy Bricks which provides Legos to kids in the hospital and, sadly, recently had 2,000 Lego sets stolen from one of their delivery vans in the United Kingdom. Here's hoping his world record brings enough attention to more than make up for the missing sets!!
It's like Graffiti 2.0
I'm guessing our family talks about graffiti more often than most others. There's a lot of it in San Francisco and some of it is really lovely and some of it is thought provoking and some of it is just vandalism. But this graffiti artist gets it right. Evgeny Ches is from Moscow and describes his work as Cellograffiti which is an artistic technique where he paints images of animals on clear cellophane wrapped between two trees. You should check out his Instagram feed. Here are some samples:
Scandalous moments in TV history + a comeback!
Depending on your age and level of obsession with pop culture, you might remember some of these infamous scandals in tv history:
Cut to the chase, Noob. Murphy Brown is coming back!! They're doing a revamp of the show and Candice Bergen is playing her role! "As its 30th anniversary approaches, 'Murphy Brown' returns to a world of cable news, social media, fake news and a very different political and cultural climate," CBS said in a statement.
I, for one, can't WAIT! That's all I've got for tonight. I'm pretty excited to get on the workout wagon again very soon, hopefully tomorrow.
Do you have a workout planned tomorrow? Tell me what you're training for (or just what you had for breakfast) in the comments!
Did I miss any scandalous TV moments?
