The littlest one has been under the weather, poor guy. I try to look at the upside of having a sick kid -- he wants more cuddles than ever before and he takes killer naps! Both of my boys get the croup frequently which is strange because the weather here is cool and moist (sorry for anyone with aversions to that word! yes, it's a thing).
I worked from home on Monday so he could rest and took him to the library down the street which was closed but we got to return our books in the book drop (typically the highlight of the library visit!). He is such a positive kid -- BOTH of my boys are positive -- even when they're sick. I'm always amazed by this because I'm an awful, awful sick person. I want constant attention at the same time as personal space. I want lots of cool compresses and fans while lots of warm soups and teas are brought to me sporadically while I heal... etc etc. Just an awful patient.
My kids teach me tons of life lessons (a post for another day!). Just the other night Croc was in bed and a fire truck went by... I know the sirens scare him so I was bracing for some tears. But I saw him stop, cover his ears, and then he said, "Fire trucks aren't scary because they're nice." He learned to reassure himself which is really what our job as parents is all about - giving them the tools to figure stuff out! and cope with things.

I'm supposed to do 1-1.5 hours of cross training a week in addition to my runs. Along with strength, I choose to ride my bike. About a year and a half ago, I had two big problems: parking in downtown San Francisco is $$$$, and I was so busy at work that I didn't have any opportunity to exercise (or so I told myself at the time...you ALWAYS have time). So I decided to sell my car and buy a bike! Essentially forcing me to exercise.
And now let me introduce you to Black Beauty! Well it's only an awkward selfie but you get the idea. I have a real pretty bike that's way too heavy and way too big for me but I love it so much.
Yes, I get to look at things like the Conservatory of Flowers and the Painted Ladies on my ride. I sure am lucky! I always want to pinch myself when I see all the tourists lined up taking their photos of these beautiful landmarks.
Time for a quick change, then my transformation into an adult!
