This is my "I'm dying of sickness so please pity me immediately and keep a loop of Parks & Rec on Netflix please" look. I've mastered it.
I have a chest cold thing happening. These gifts of illnesses from my children are truly a blessing. They are such giving children. Nothing at all sounded good to me to eat except waffles and tea. Jon brought me this in bed. He is a real, real, real nice guy. And—without my request—he swiped some raspberry jam between the waffles and it was the kind of life surprise that makes you want to weep with joy. I tend toward the dramatic when I'm sick.
But the REAL good news is that I met Mr. Wonderful while getting my car serviced yesterday. I have to admit, he was a very nice guy.
And then Jesus drove me to work. He got five stars.
Our new set of crabs are still going strong! And these are a lot more active. Male fiddler crabs have one big claw and one small one. They molt (shed) their skin constantly so sometimes it's hard to tell if they are being reclusive and unresponsive because they're molting or because they're...well you know... moving on to the crab afterlife.
Husband issued me a challenge and I failed to respond in time. I'm constantly asking him to rub my feet (which Apple autocorrects to RUN my feet) and he's constantly asking me why I never check my text messages. I don't know.
Jon's mom sent another CARE PACKAGE!!!!! Said like Oprah!!!! It's like finding buried treasure and the contents are usually all kids booty.
Yep, trail mix with M&Ms which Croc started picking out pretty much right away. Then I later confiscated them for my own midnight snack.
Airheads candy. I can't check the ingredients or I'll never let them eat it. Special treats like this are no problem-o if they're occasional.
Oh boy. Cow tales and Goldfish and look at his face! Hahaha.
This morning they built a pillow car fort. You could use it as a couch or a bed, I was told! I love 2-fers.
And finally the day came. The day we've all been waiting for... The shaggy dogs got a cut. Thank you, barber at Supercuts, for somehow getting these two to sit still and even smile after their cuts. We've all come a very long way.
I was a little worried about Croc in the chair but he found a way to comfort himself by taking the long, cut, locks of his hair and rolling them into a ball and then rubbing them up and down his arms. Hey, whatever works buddy.
I woke up cold and shivering. I wore three shirts and a sweatshirt. We got hot tea which I was cooling to the perfect temp. Them I took a massive swig. The tea bag had busted and so I got an unexpected mouthful of tea bag contents. #starbucksfail
This book is the current favorite in our house. Don't you love anything to do with world records, science, and undersea animals? Or is that just me?
I am going to attempt to keep my long run tomorrow even though I feel crummy. Hydrating like crazy tonight and getting to bed early for sure. We carved our pumpkins today and now we're counting down the minutes until it's dark enough to light them.
I hope you had a wickedly spooky (healthy!) Saturday!
