Remember when I mentioned there have been rattlesnake sightings in the area? Well we had a little visitor at the pool today...
So I took the well being of the entire group into my own hands by Wikipedia-ing this shit immediately. Apparently rattlesnakes only move about 2-3 miles per hour but they can leap too! No thank you!! We relocated.
Everyone got a magazine and a mask upon arrival. Pretty much all we've done the entire trip is eat, lay by the pool, drink, and tell good stories. It's worked real well so far ;)
Yesterday I went for a six mile run and it was HILLY! Yep I did a self timer shot. I hate selfies - have I mentioned this? I actually felt pretty darn sore from the uphill running so I took it easier this morning by going for a hike with Liz where we stumbled on some interesting stuff...
This morning's breakfast was scrambled eggs with chives, fruit salad, bacon (I skipped), and toasted bread from Tartine. If you ever get to SF you absolutely have to try Tartine bread. It is a meal game changer.
Glow stick leftover from last night. I'll leave it at that!
And today was more sun and eating. So far on this trip we've seen:
Let's hope we're finished with the wildlife viewing portion of our getaway. Tomorrow we head back to the city and I'm ready for it. I miss my boys. I want to snuggle them and smell their maple syrup scent.
We've managed to scare ourselves six weeks to Sunday out here in the middle of nowhere. There's a little shack at the top of the hill across the street from this home and we swear there's an escaped convict in there waiting to break into our house. The amount of sailor talk, birth stories, work drama, and kid situations we've discussed has been endless. It's such a refreshing change of pace being surrounded by only women for three days after having been surrounded by men both at home and at work (for the most part)!!
We did not pack the penis ice cubes. They must have been leftover from a bachelorette party or something so why not throw them in the wine and class the day up a bit!?
These women will rule the world someday :)
And how was YOUR weekend?
