Today was the wettest day in San Francisco since 2014!
Remember how I mentioned my friends and I did a white elephant gift exchange and we all gave one person a hard time for contributing an umbrella for his gift? We were all eating our words this morning! Hahahahaha!
One blog I like to read is Hungry Runner Girl and she did a post recently about garbage in equaling garbage out! The phrase stuck with me and so now I'm trying to do my part to start putting more good stuff inside me. These vegetables were pickled a little bit and were really good on the eggs. As I've said before, I'm really spoiled that I can eat meals at work and that they offer all kinds of options like vegan, gluten-free, and vegetarian. Monday through Friday I have no excuse NOT to get all my veggies in!
Oh how I miss stone fruits :( Though we're making the most of winter fruit season. The kiwi this time of year is so amazing. I remember the first time I ever ate a kiwi (I was an adult!) and how I thought it was so exotic. I grew up with three kinds of fruit options: apples, bananas, and oranges. Exotic meant finding a bag of seedless grapes in the fridge :)
This post is quickly turning into the food edition...
I found these seeded soft pretzels from Firebrand Artisan Breads at the store. I cannot begin to tell you how much I wanted more. There were little sunflower seeds all over it (which Croc had to pick off one by one before eating). Yum! Having pretzels with mustard is the only way I'll eat them! Including hard pretzels.
More food photos! I had a ton of veggies in the fridge that were about to go bad so I put them in the slow cooker for chili. This weekend I found myself in a story spiral reading about Tom Brady's diet. The guy he uses as his "body coach" has instructed Tom to never ever eat mushrooms, tomatoes, or bell peppers because they are inflammatory. Guess what's inside my chili? Let's just say it's not Tom Brady-approved...
Painting is complete!! Now we have a blank slate to fill it with our hanging things. I want to get Jon and the boys out of the house for an afternoon while I hang everything and then do a grand reveal a la Fixer Upper!
Do you remember the old Trading Spaces shows on HGTV with the hostess Paige? I used to watch those religiously with my mom every week!
This Ben 10 watch is a big hit with everyone in the house except those people who have to hear the voice every time one of the kids presses the button! A friend of mine taught me a great trick to put duct tape over the speakers of all talking toys. It muffles the noise perfectly. You learned it here, folks!
Donut discussion with The Dude.
Tonight was the first day back to school for both of the boys and first day back to work for Jon so it's an early night for us all. This rain is so perfect that I don't even have to turn on the sound machine tonight.
Tell me: Have you ever tried a fad diet? I once did the cabbage soup diet which lasted all of 4 hours!
