I'm debating running the Diablo Summit Stomp in November which could be a complete NOOB MOVE considering my track record running on trails! I wasn't planning to do a race at that time since it's the month before California International Marathon, but I love Brazen Racing events and this one looks really fun (aside from the almost entirely uphill course :).
They give you a chance to "make a deal" partway through the course if you're running the 30K distance....
Mt. Diablo is a pretty brutal hike/ride/run no matter what mode of transportation you use, so it's kind of cool that they offer the really long distance participants a chance to "make a deal" at mile 9 and switch to the half-marathon course. I might do the 10K course instead of the half. <----- I almost typed "I might just do the 10K..." but then I remembered this quote and I removed the word "just"!
I'm mentally preparing myself for a long-ish run either tomorrow or Friday. Running anything over 6 miles on a weeknight feels very hard for me. I'd almost rather cross train but I do need to fit in more miles so I need to do at least 2 mid-week runs moving forward.
I walked to The Dude's after school to pick him up and it smelled and felt so much like Fall. I love this time of year! It is definitely my favorite.
Fall = time to get ready for Halloween! I recruited my mom (a master sewer) to make Croc's costume this year so we had to send her measurements. It is not an easy task getting a 3-year-old to hold still for a tape measurer. At one point I think he was trying to lick it?
And finally a quick update on the status of my feet which I'm sure you're dying to know about. My work buddies turned me on to this product Baby Foot which basically peels off the outer skin layer of your foot and makes them feel baby soft again. Two observations:
1.) The treatment smelled like a chemical factory sprayed with lavender Febreeze
2.) The instructions were not exactly crystal clear, yet they WERE borderline sexy?
Jon is dying to see the treatment kick in so my feet can shed. He is truly lucky to share living space with me :)
Have you ever tried a foot mask/peel? Tell me about it.
Do you run on trails and/or in mostly uphill races?
